FORMULA 1 Italian GP 2024

335 thousand attendees in Monza for the 95th edition of the Italian GP organized by Autodromo Nazionale Monza and Formula 1 in collaboration with FREE EVENT

Four days of great excitement and activities: the staff of FREE EVENT, under the creative direction of Andrea Camporesi, produced the opening Grid Show of the race and coordinated the space dedicated to the Fanzone, with a large stage with maxi-screens and a program full of activities, including interviews, dj-sets and the highly anticipated drivers’ engagement, the moment when the drivers and team principals of Formula 1 met their fans.

There were many side activities, with a Fanzone that gathered thousands and thousands of fans over the four opening days: pit-stop challenge, test-drive simulators, food&beverage area, trophy area and cars exhibition, always with an eye on sustainability thanks to the presence of water fountains to fill water bottles and numerous recycling bins.

Coordinating the stage activity hosted by Zoran Filicic and Fjona Cakalli who, with great energy and friendliness, warmed up the many fans present in Fanzone and announced the program and the various DJ-sets that took turns over the four days. Two among all, among the most internationally known, Dj Tommy Vee and Dj Admin.

Also the logistical organization of the Drivers’ Engagement was managed by FREE EVENT in collaboration with Formula 1, where the drivers of the racing teams were interviewed by Immy Barclay on stage on Friday and Saturday mornings, in front of an immense crowd that cheered them loudly.

The protagonists of the Talk Italian Talent were the drivers Antonelli, Fornaroli and Minì, the promises of tricolor motor racing: of Kimi Antonelli, Formula 2 driver and exponent of ACI Team Italia, just on Saturday morning came the news of his debut in Formula 1 with Mercedes AMG Petronas, starting next year.

Among this year’s novelties in Fanzone, Street Art and Graffiti Writing artists took turns to create a four-day artistic performance, coordinated by Milanese street artist Kayone: on 3×3-meter canvases, the writers painted the F1 of the future, creating a choral work toward sustainability. At the end of the event, the work was donated to Autodromo Nazionale Monza.

The opening show on the grid was another event curated by FREE EVENT in collaboration with the staff of Autodromo Nazionale Monza: just minutes before the start of the Italian GP, Meduza, producers and DJs among the most listened to in the world’s electronic music scene, anticipated the starting line-up and for the occasion created an unreleased track in collaboration with the Senna Foundation. With sails unfurled to form the tricolor, performers and dancers (choreographed by Santo Giuliano) accompanied the Italian anthem sung loudly by tenor Francesco Meli, played by flutist Andrea Griminelli and the Banda della Guardia di Finanza, celebrating its 250th anniversary.
In attendance at the starting grid were Stefano Domenicali, CEO of Formula1, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, FIA President, Attilio Fontana, President of the Lombardy Region, Giovanni Malagò, CONI President, and twenty boys and girls from AC Monza alongside the drivers.

Many guests and celebrities, especially sportsmen, participated in this unforgettable appointment in the Temple of Speed: Alessandro Del Piero, Marcel Jacobs some among them, but they could not miss the winners of the Paris Olympics who, together with the CONI President Giovanni Malagò, had the opportunity to take the track on the starting grid and join this stage in the calendar dedicated to Italianism and sport.

It was a weekend full of excitement with a record-breaking audience of 3,500 insiders, nearly 400 journalists and photographers, more than 40 radio and TV stations with 140 people involved, culminating on Sunday afternoon, September 1, with a home victory for Scuderia Ferrari with Charles Leclerc.
