RED BULL 5 TERRE

RED BULL 5 TERRE MAKES ITS DEBUT: FITNESS AND CREATORS IN THE PERFECT SETTING OF SEA AND TRAILS, WITH FREE EVENT LEADING THE PRODUCTION

Five teams, ten fitness creators at the center of an immersive experience across the Cinque Terre, blending performance, digital storytelling, and connection with the local territory. The event, produced by FREE EVENT as executive producer and event organizer, saw the victory of the team made up of Francesca Biella and Filippo Tenca.

Cinque Terre, April 23, 2026 – Five villages, five teams, one shared route crossing sea, trails, and history. On April 21 and 22, this extraordinary location became the stage for Red Bull 5 Terre, a sport and immersive experience combining functional training, entertainment, and digital storytelling in a format designed to be experienced both on and off the competition field.

More than just a competition, it was a shared journey between creators and territory, where every stage represented a chapter in a wider narrative: fitness experienced as connection, discovery, and shared emotion.

Each team, made up of creator duos, competed along a route touching all five villages: Corniglia, Vernazza, Riomaggiore, and Manarola, before concluding in Monterosso al Mare.

Behind the event’s organizational complexity, FREE EVENT played a key role as executive producer and event organizer. The company managed institutional relations with local authorities — including the municipalities, the Liguria Region, and the Cinque Terre National Park and Marine Protected Area — while also coordinating the entire logistics operation and sports activities in synergy with Red Bull management.

Specifically, the agency oversaw the execution of the event across all locations, from coordinating setups at each stage to managing security operations, ensuring the safe running of every challenge both on land and at sea.

A structured and integrated operation that made possible the realization of a widespread event across the entire Cinque Terre area — a territory as fascinating as it is logistically complex.

The challenges transformed the Cinque Terre into an open-air playground, testing endurance, coordination, and team spirit. In Corniglia, the Partner Wall Ball opened the competition with 200 total medicine ball throws completed in pairs through rhythm, coordination, and endurance. In Vernazza, SkiErg & Plank tested mental strength and teamwork, with participants rowing kilometers on the SkiErg while their teammate held a plank position. In Riomaggiore, along the iconic Via dell’Amore, sprint intervals and fitness exercises alternated in an explosive and spectacular challenge. In Manarola, the Rowing Challenge brought the competition to the sea, with participants kayaking in pairs through technique and synchronization. The grand finale took place in Monterosso al Mare with the Run & Swim Finale — a mix of beach running, shuttle sprints, and swimming that determined the final standings in front of Spiaggia del Gigante. Adding unpredictability to every stage was a bonus and penalty system determined by the roll of a dice.

Amid twists, turns, and breathtaking landscapes, Francesca Biella and Filippo Tenca claimed the trophy, followed by Marta Giunti and Luca Vezil in second place, while Vicky Benedetti and Gio Maione completed the podium in third.

Red Bull 5 Terre was born with a strong digital vocation: each creator shared their experience in real time, transforming the competition into a continuous stream of social content. A collective, spontaneous, and immersive narrative where every perspective contributed to building an authentic story.

Between sea views, elevation changes, and uneven terrain, every exercise became an integral part of the landscape, in a constant balance between performance and adaptation. More than just a location, the Cinque Terre became an active narrative element. Each village shaped a different challenge, influencing rhythm, intensity, and dynamics.

“This initiative,” stated President Marco Bucci, “perfectly represents the direction in which we want to take Liguria: a territory capable of attracting major international brands and telling its story in innovative ways through sport and digital languages. Events like Red Bull 5 Terre enhance our world-renowned landscapes and project them toward a global audience, generating new opportunities for development and promotion for the entire region.”

The setting was not simply the backdrop of the event, but an active component of the experience itself — capable of guiding and transforming the way sport was experienced. At the heart of the project lies the meeting between people, places, and challenges, in a context where performance intertwines with fun and digital sharing.
