FREE EVENT AND VOLKSWAGEN TOGETHER AGAIN FOR THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF GOLF: THE AGENCY CREATES THE BRAND'S EXHIBITION SPACE AT THE INTERNATIONAL CLASSIC CAR AND MOTORBIKE SHOW, WHICH WINS FIRST PRIZE AS BEST EXHIBITION STAND

The Golf turns 50: an important anniversary that Volkswagen wanted to share with owners and fans of the iconic car, displaying all eight generations of Golfs in the stand designed and created by FREE EVENT at the Salone Internazionale Auto e Moto d’Epoca 2024 in Bologna.
Four days full of activities, public relations and meetings with fans, in a journey through history, present and future, under the banner of technology and immersiveness, thanks to the spaces designed by FREE EVENT, which made the brand earn the title of Best Exhibition Stand of the Exhibition 2024.

Four hundred square metres of exhibition space, with an 80-square-metre cube of Crystal Led, progressively unveiling the new Golf 8. An immersive path with projections of the Golf’s historical contents, creating a timeless virtual museum, and the expo corner dedicated to the other 7 generations of Golfs.

An imposing cube of Crystal Led allowed us to stage a large stand that got the most out of transparencies and projected images, recreating a kind of holographic atmosphere in time code and generating a wow effect in the public walking around to discover the fair, hall after hall. We are proud of the recognition as best stand at the event, because it positions us, even in the trade fair sector, among the leading companies in the area.’ These are the words of Andrea Camporesi, Creative Director of FREE EVENT, who signed the Volkswagen project together with Gianmarco Sisti (Executive Director), Gioela Giardino (Coordinator) and Riccardo Panebianco (Set Designer). A crescendo of energy and passion culminated on Sunday, when FREE EVENT took care of the organisation and direction of three key moments: the gathering of fans, the awards ceremony for the competition ‘The Golf Lovers’ Collection’ and the talk, featuring Volkswagen management, content creator and presenter Carolina Tedeschi and Giorgetto Giugiaro, Chairman of GFG Style and legendary designer of the first generation Golf. A unique opportunity to retrace the 50-year history of the Golf and the evolution of its design through the words of Giugiaro himself, who has been the first to give life to a car concept that is still a global benchmark in its segment.

As guests of Volkswagen Italia, the winners of ‘The Golf Lovers’ Collection’ photo competition were awarded a unique experience at Auto e Moto d’Epoca 2024, receiving their prizes from Cavalier Giugiaro himself, together with the brand’s management.

Also on Sunday, a special Golf Gathering took place, that 100 Golfs of the most unusual models were invited to attend. The fans received a welcome kit to celebrate the 50-year anniversary and were entertained with music, food and many wonderful stories about their favourite car.

In other words, a great success for the umpteenth collaboration between FREE EVENT and Volkswagen Italia, that, together, were able to create an event and designed a space in which design, technology and great content provided the setting for the narration of an iconic story.
