Almost 370,000 attendees at the 2025 F1 GP in Monza: for the second year in a row, FREE EVENT partners with Autodromo Nazionale Monza on the creative direction and executive production of the Grid Show and Fanzone.
Monza, September 9, 2025
The Italian Grand Prix once again transformed the Autodromo Nazionale Monza into a global stage, not only for sport but also for entertainment and live production. With 369,041 attendees over the weekend (+10% compared to 2024), the 2025 edition set record numbers, making it the most attended sporting event in Italy’s history.
A massive organization involved more than 10,000 people, including 1,200 security staff, 400 track marshals, and 200 medical operators. The venue itself was enhanced with 4,000 new seats, a new 1,500-capacity hospitality structure, and 36 giant screens placed around the circuit.
Entertainment by FREE EVENT
Following the success of 2024, FREE EVENT once again oversaw the creative and artistic direction of the Grid Show and the Fanzone stage, an area of over 43,000 sqm turned into a true experiential village blending music, speed, and interactivity.
Three major new features were introduced this year:
- Free Style Park, with performances of parkour, breakdance, freestyle basketball, jump rope, and bike freestyle;
- “From Legend to Future” path, with 10 interactive totems dedicated to the history of Formula 1 and Monza.
The Fanzone stage hosted daily DJ sets and the performance of international producer Benny Benassi, the highlight of Saturday night. The program also included themed talks such as Legends to Future with Gian Carlo Minardi and young Italian F2 and F3 talents, as well as the highly popular Drivers’ Engagement with F1 drivers and team principals. Hosting over 40 hours of live entertainment were Tania Branzanic and Davide Valsecchi.
A Record-Breaking Grid Show
Broadcast to audiences worldwide, the Grid Show reached peaks of emotion: following Benny Benassi’s electrifying opening, tenor Vittorio Grigòlo performed the Italian national anthem accompanied by the Carabinieri Band.
Drivers were accompanied onto the track by the Grid Kids of the Maria Letizia Verga Foundation of Monza, strengthening the bond between Formula 1, inclusion, and solidarity.
Two institutional moments curated by ACI and Autodromo Nazionale Monza completed the show: the parachutists of the Italian Army’s Folgore Brigade, landing with the Italian flag along with the banners of ACI and F1, and—at the climax of the anthem—the spectacular flyover of the iconic Frecce Tricolori.
Autodromo Nazionale Monza focuses on Inclusion and Sustainability
The 2025 Grand Prix emphasized accessibility and sustainability, with initiatives including:
- Dedicated stands and pathways for people with disabilities;
- Water refill stations and free sunscreen distribution;
- The “One Driver, One Tree” project, with new trees planted in Monza Park;
- Recovery of surplus food for families in need;
- Involvement of organizations supporting the employment inclusion of young people with disabilities.
